The beauty industry is eternally dreaming up new ways to replicate the effects of cosmetic surgery procedures, without actually necessitating a scalpel or an anaesthetic. With the explosion of lunchtime rejuvenation procedures available, many women are at a loss as to what is the most suitable aesthetic treatment for their faces. The issues facing one looking for non-surgical rejuvenation enhancement techniques are: (1) the extent of what they can accomplish (2) the downtime (this varies between individuals, and what constitutes downtime for one may not be so for another) (3) the longevity of the treatment (or how long the results can last). With this in mind, top on the podium of most popular face-enhancing, youth-reviving therapies in the last five years stand Dermal Fillers, Threadlifts and Ultherapy. Anyone who have not been living under a rock would have at some point heard about their benefits in terms of turning back the ageing clock, reducing lines and wrinkles and lifting skin. A filler lift at The SW1 Clinic gave me a slimmer jawline, fuller cheeks, and an ‘eye-opening’ effect (literally)! I woke up happy today. 10 hours of glorious sleep! But my happiness was shortlived, as I bumped into a friend I haven’t seen in yonks on the way to work. “Germaine?” I yelled out to her with enthusiasm initially. “Serene? Wow! You look tired.” She replied. Yup. That was pretty much all we said for the rest of the train ride. Maybe her comment was a ‘girl thing’, maybe she never liked me much while we were at school. Or it could really be because at the ripe old age of 25, I had undereye circles so dark that I looked like I just spent a year in a cave. My Miracle Lift I was frankly tired of people commenting on how tired I looked everyday, even though I always woke up feeling fresh. I researched on the possible Continue Reading
BY LISA WILLIAMS At some point, it’s hard to ignore the vivid signs of ageing I see in the mirror. I always felt that my face could be sharper and more V-shaped, but I’ve noticed my face has become more “bottom heavy” and saggy in the past year. My eyes look so dull and permanently tired, it makes me look listless and older than my actual age despite all the eye serums and facials I’ve tried. Perhaps more than anything else, I’m most affected when people say I look older than my husband. With my birthday coming next month, I’ve finally plucked up enough courage to dip my toes into unchartered waters – FILLERS to lift my face! I know that I don’t want anything invasive but I know I am ready for any sort of non-surgical facelift (if there is such a thing)! I’ve chosen to go to SW1 Clinic at my friend’s recommendation. More importantly, one of my close friends have been there before and I’ve heard great things about Continue Reading
